MICROSOFT is offering a free upgrade to its new Windows 10 operating system for most Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 users, but you may need to take action to ensure you do not miss out.

If you use Windows 8 or 8.1, Windows 10 will significantly improve the usability of your PC. If you run Windows 7 the upgrade will greatly boost performance.

The upgrade is not to be missed, and there is a limited time frame in which you can get it for free. Making matters difficult is some computers not showing the free upgrade notification.

The problem can be fixed, but you might not be aware you are missing out. For a free fact sheet on how to secure your Windows 10 upgrade, email Jon at ITaffinity – info@itaffinity.com.

UPDATE 27 July 2015: Jon from ITaffinity has said: “it seems the free update is very likely to come, even without reservation, for Windows 8.1 users. But it just takes two mouse clicks to avoid the risk.”
