A ladder platform crew from Dandenong had to be called to allow firefighters to extinguish the fire.
Incident Controller Lieutenant Steve Venville says the fire badly damaged the house.
“We were able to stop the spread of fire fairly quickly, but nonetheless the entire house was extensively damaged by fire and smoke,” Lt Venville said.
The house is advertised for lease and had no occupants at the time of the fire.

This is the second major fire in Warragul this week. Emergency services were called to a factory fire in Phoenix Street on Wednesday night.
