A Country Fire Authority media release said Lt Harry died “in the line of duty” this morning, collapsing after going to remove equipment from a Gisborne house which had caught fire.
Lt Harry went to retrieve the lights after the fire had been extinguished and did not enter the house during the fire.
The CFA has offered support to all members.
