Truck fire closes freeway between Yarragon and Darnum

A TRUCK fire has caused the closure of the Princes Freeway in both directions between Yarragon and Darnum this morning.

UPDATE 1205: VicRoads declared the freeway reopened earlier today only to announce the eastbound lanes had been closed again shortly before 1100.

A VicRoads spokesperson said in a media release the incident had closed the stretch of road between the towns.

“Princes Freeway is closed between Darnum and Yarragon in both directions due to a truck fire,” the spokesperson said.

Emergency services are at the scene and police are redirecting traffic.
