Baw Baw has been warned of potential damaging winds and heavy rainfall over the next few hours, but the cool change might not be here until Tuesday.

The Bureau of Meteorology has warned “severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours.

“Locations which may be affected include Morwell, Traralgon, Warragul, Moe, Maffra and Mt Baw Baw.”

A map has been released of the warning area, which you can find above. You can find the latest warning information and storm planning advice at the BoM website.

But the storm might not bring cooler weather. The BoM this morning stated “the hot and humid conditions will continue until a change reaches southwestern Victoria after sunrise Monday, Melbourne Monday afternoon, and eastern Victoria during Tuesday.”

Warragul is forecast to experience temperatures between 25 and 36°C tomorrow with a high chance of evening rain and possibly a thunderstorm.

Tuesday is forecast to be much cooler – between 15 and 20°C with a very high chance of rain and possible thunderstorms in the morning and afternoon.

Rainfall on Monday could reach 15mm, while Tuesday is forecast to bring 10 to 25mm.
