Gary Blackwood’s office has told the Warragul & Baw Baw Citizen the Liberal MP expects to retain Narracan despite a small swing against him.

A spokesperson said despite a notional post-redistribution majority of 16 per cent, up from 12.4 per cent at the last election, they were expecting a 12 per cent majority.

That would mean a four per cent swing against the Liberal party in Narracan.

The VEC is reporting a two-party preferred result of 60.87 per cent for Mr Blackwood with 48 per cent of the vote counted.

Labor’s primary vote at present is 30.58 per cent, while the Greens are up to 9.14 per cent and Country Alliance on 4.36 per cent.

On top of the primary votes is Gary Blackwood on 53.39 per cent, while at the bottom is Rise Up Australia at 2.53 per cent.
