Bushfire burns 10 kilometres north of Noojee

A SMALL bushfire is burning near Toorongo Road, 10 kilometres north of Noojee.

Fire crews are responding and water bombing aircraft have been called in to tackle the fire.

The CFA website has advised residents of nearby towns (listed below) that smoke may be visible.

Those residents have also been advised to monitor conditions, check their bushfire survival plans, and if time permits to check on neighbours.

The following towns may be able to see smoke: Baw Baw Village, Hayman Corner, Downey, Icy Creek, Fumina, Loch Valley, Nayook, Neerim North, Newlands, Noojee, Piedmont, Saxton, Toorongo, Vesper, Kirchubel, Myrrhee, Neerim Junction, Strahan, Fumina South, Tanjil Bren, Whites Corner.
