A CAR stolen from a Longwarry service station was torched two days after its discovery by police.

A police spokesperson told The Warragul Citizen the car was stolen after being left at the Longwarry Caltex service station on Saturday 22 December.

The car was located by police on Monday 24 December, abandoned at the intersection of Princes Way and Labertouche Road Longwarry North with tyre damage from burnouts.

The spokesperson said the car the car was left at the location for the owner to collect at a later date but was torched by an unknown offender on Wednesday 26 December at about 4.50am.

The spokesperson said 68 cents of fuel purchased from the Caltex service station was used to start the fire which incinerated the car.
