A PLANNING permit and rezoning request for an airfield in Drouin South have been withdrawn by the applicant after over 110 objections were received.

Only 29 of 143 submissions to the proposition supported the proposal.

Fifty slips responding to an advertisement placed on the behalf of the applicant were also received in support of the proposal.

The withdrawal happened after a hearing became inevitable because of the high number of submissions.

The applicant did not want to pay for the costs associated with the hearing.
