A MAN in his late 30s has been charged after allegedly carrying a realistic imitation firearm while walking south along Seven Mile Road, Trafalgar, yesterday.

A police spokesperson said officers pursued the man who was alleged to have been in a drug or alcohol affected state on foot before catching him on Waterloo Road shortly after 4pm.

The spokesperson said a realistic fake gun was found abandoned on a median strip after the pursuit and stressed the man did not use it toward anyone during the incident.
