THE WARRAGUL Fire Brigade has joined fire crews around the state in mourning the loss of Gisborne Fire Brigade Second Lieutenant Peter Harry.

The Australian flag outside the Warragul Fire Station was lowered to half-mast today in memory of Lt Harry.

A Country Fire Authority media release said Lt Harry died “in the line of duty” this morning, collapsing after going to remove equipment from a Gisborne house which had caught fire.

Lt Harry went to retrieve the lights after the fire had been extinguished and did not enter the house during the fire.

The CFA has offered support to all members.
