TRARALGON and Bairnsdale line services will operate as normal from the 1835 Gippslander service onwards after an obstruction at Caulfield saw the lines suspended earlier this afternoon.

V/Line has advised commuters the Southern Cross to Bairnsdale service “will operate as a train as timetabled.”

Buses replaced trains while the line was suspended.

Update 1759: some Melbourne-bound services may still experience disruptions as a result of this afternoon’s delays.

The below is from TWC’s original report on the suspension, published at 1649.

Regional rail operator V/Line has advised passengers at Flinders Street and Richmond stations to travel to Southern Cross Station for bus replacements.

Passengers at Caulfield will be able to board a bus at that station, while those waiting for a service from Clayton, Dandenong or Berwick should catch a metropolitan train to Pakenham for buses.

V/Line will release further information when it is available. You can visit the Gippsland line Twitter feed by clicking here.
