The Bureau of Meteorology says thunderstorms are forecast to form in the North East district tonight and will develop in eastern parts of the West and South Gippsland district tomorrow.

The North Central, Northern Country and Northeast districts will also be affected.

The State Emergency Service advises people to not drive, ride or walk through flood water and to stay away from creeks and stormwater drains.

Update (26 Feb, 2.25pm): People in fire-affected areas are advised to look out for debris and landslides over roads.

The Bureau says an update will be issued at 11pm tonight.
