The council’s growth and economic development director Matthew Cripps said the rate of parking violations so far this year was substantial.
“Since January this year, 308 parking infringements were issued in the shire by the community compliance team,” Mr Cripps told the Warragul & Baw Baw Citizen.
“In total, 82 per cent of these infringements were issued to vehicles staying over the prescribed time limit.”
There have been 48 infringement notices issued so far this month.

The other 18 per cent of infringements were issued for cars stopping in no stopping zones, parking in loading zones, and unreasonably obstructing pedestrians or other vehicles.
The number of infringements has been rising over recent years. Last year there were 137 more parking violations in Baw Baw than in 2014.
