“All eastbound traffic on Alfred Street will be diverted onto a new section of road that has been constructed for the intersection of Alfred Street and the new underpass.
“During this traffic change there will be a reduced speed limit of 40km/h in place and there will be extra signs to alert drivers to the changed conditions.
“The switch is required so road workers can complete construction of new traffic islands that will direct traffic flow when the underpass is opened.
“Motorists are urged to keep an eye out for changed traffic conditions and adhere to the speed limit while these important works are underway.”
