DATA in the Baw Baw Shire’s quarterly performance report shows a massive increase in the number of births in the region.

Birth notifications increased from 51 in Q2 2013/14 to 135 in Q2 2014/15.

The number of visits recorded for the council’s Key Age and Stage asseessments increased from 476 to 1,161 in the same periods.

Children provided with day care rose by 27 to 186, while the number of educators rose by four to 24.

Kinder enrolment applications dropped by 30 from 101 to 71.
