Almost $2,000 of tools were stolen from a ute parked in the driveway of a School Road, Trafalgar home earlier this month.

Overnight on the night of Sunday 16, unknown offenders forced the locks of two toolboxes mounted to the Mitsubishi Triton ute.

A police spokesperson said the offenders removed various tools, mostly related to plumbing.
