Ute and motorbikes stolen: Yarragon

OPPORTUNISTIC thieves stole a ute loaded with two motorbikes in Yarragon this morning after the owner left their keys in the ignition.

The vehicle and bikes were left on the Princes Highway while the owner visited visited a bakery at around 6.30am.

A police spokesperson said while the owner was in the bakery, a man in a dark hoodie stole the ute and drove it west along the Princes Freeway, followed by a late-model white Ford ute believed to be occupied by a co-offender.

The stolen ute was a white 2004 model Ford with registration WAH 994. The bikes were an orange, white and black 2012 KTM 250 SXF and red and white Honda CRF 250 with registration 380 1E.

The alleged co-offender’s ute was reported to have a partial registration of 1BE 82.

The stolen ute also contained an aluminium box full of tools in the rear tray.
