‘Vigorous’ cold front brings weather warning for West Gippsland

THE BUREAU of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for parts of the West Gippsland forecast district as a “vigorous” cold front travels east from central districts.
Damaging winds around 55 km/h with peak gusts around 90 to 100 km/h have been forecast for the region.
The State Emergency Service has advised people in affected areas to move vehicles under cover or away from trees, to secure loose items around houses and to stay away from fallen power lines.

The warning also applies to parts of Central, South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast districts.
