As part of the council’s $3.395 million Drouin Customer Service Centre Redevelopment project the Warragul Civic Place office has undergone renovations.

Changes included a refit of the service area, including the removal of walls and the installation of two community meeting areas.

CCTV and alarm systems have been upgraded, new lighting installed and minor changes have been made to existing staff offices in the Civic Place building.

Staff were moved from the Smith Street offices to a refurbished centre in Drouin last month. The public-facing Smith Street customer service centre remained open until the Civic Place centre reopened earlier this week.

Baw Baw mayor Debbie Brown endorsed the renovation.

“Baw Baw Shire Council is committed to providing excellent service to the community,” Cr Brown said in a media release.

“The upgrades at the Civic Place Customer Service Centre in Warragul will ensure that customers have access to the services and resources necessary for their service requirements.”

Baw Baw residents can pay council-related fees, submit planning permits, log customer requests and make general enquiries at customer service centres.

Pity these councillors wouldn’t be a little more interest in looking after the streets and roads instead of looking after them selves with there fancy officers.
