Decorations were put up recently in the form of flags, lights and other decorations.

While some decorations were purchased in previous years, others are new this year. New “pole topper” decorations have been a notable addition in Trafalgar and have also appeared in Warragul.

Baw Baw community assets director Phil Cantillon said the council is planning to use all of its 2015/16 financial year decorations budget.

“The budget for the purchase and renewal of Christmas decorations in 2015/16 is $10,661,” Mr Cantillon told the Warragul & Baw Baw Citizen.

“This year, $8,370 has been spent on new flags, lights and trialling some new pole topper decorations.

“The remaining budget will be spent on purchasing additional pole topper decorations.”

  1. Interesting that the motion of 8 April, 2015 hasn’t been enacted…haven’t seen any Christmas Decoration up here nor has there been any contact from the BBS about their install. Here’s the motion: “That Council support officers in continuing to work with the Business Advisory Groups or the like within the towns of Drouin, Trafalgar, Longwarry, Neerim South, Thorpdale, Willow Grove, Walhalla and Yarragon on Christmas decorations including their location, style and numbers.”
