UPDATED: 5.3 Magnitude earthquake hits south of Trafalgar, Gippsland

A magnitude 5.3 earthquake has hit south of Trafalgar, creating shockwaves felt across the state.
Geoscience Australia (GA) reports the quake was 10 kilometres below the surface and located near Childers, south of Trafalgar.
GA initially reported a 5.5 magnitude quake occurring five kilometres below the surface between the towns of Narracan, Thorpdale and Delburn.
Geoscience Australia describes the quake as significant.
The quake occurred at 8.53 PM and Warragul residents report feeling a minor tremor shortly before the larger one hit.
A spokesperson for the State Emergency Service has told The Warragul Citizen there have not been any calls for help from Warragul and neighbouring towns
Locals are reporting light damage, including broken glass and china.
