Gippsland line faces four days of major service alterations

V/LINE has announced significant alterations to its Gippsland line timetable for the next four days.

Trains will operate on a Saturday timetable on Thursday and Friday with four extra services per day to cover morning and evening peak periods.

Weekend services will run to the usual timetable.

Terminating at Flinders Street

From Thursday to Sunday, all services to and from Melbourne will terminate and originate at Flinders Street station while Metro and Regional Rail Link works proceed.

V/Line has asked all customers who wish to travel to and from Southern Cross to catch a Metro Train or tram.

Buses for Bairnsdale

Services to Bairnsdale will operate as a coach from Traralgon until December 30.

Free travel

Passengers can board V/Line services arriving at their destination after 6pm on December 31 and the first service leaving Melbourne on each line on January 1 for free.
