Record number of candidates for McMillan

THIRTEEN candidates will contest the seat of McMillan in the upcoming federal election – the highest number since the seat was created in 1949.
The lineup features two independent candidates and candidates representing a number of parties new to the electorate.

The marginal electorate has been held by Liberal MP Russell Broadbent since his return in 2004.
The candidates are listed below as they appear on the ballot paper:
- David John Amor – Katter’s Australian Party
- Gary Patton – Senator Online (Internet Voting Bills/Issues)
- Benjamin Staggard – Sex Party
- Malcolm McKelvie – The Greens
- John Parker – Independent
- Andrew Kis-Rigo – DLP Democratic Labour
- Matthew John Sherry – Palmer United Party
- Norman Baker – Rise Up Australia Party
- Russell Broadbent – Liberal
- Anthony Naus – Australian Labor Party
- Leigh Gatt – Independent
- Ross Fisher – Country Alliance
- Luke Conlon – Family First Party
Early voting began in Warragul today ahead of the 7 September election date.
