Small tremor shakes West Gippsland

IN THE early hours of this morning a small tremor shook parts of West Gippsland.

According to Geoscience Australia, at 00:45 this morning a 2.4 magnitude earthquake occurred south east of Trafalgar near Yarragon South.

The agency’s data suggested the tremor occurred about 4km deep.
Initial reports placed the location of the earthquake as near Warragul.
A final assessment on the size and location of the quake was only released moments ago.

I was awake (in bed) and heard the distinctive rumble. It woke my husband up and we agreed that it must have been an earth tremor. We weren’t aware of any “movement” though.
