Station loop closure postponed

THE CLOSURE of the Warragul Station pick up and drop off loop for resurfacing has been postponed.

The road was due to close from tomorrow morning until Friday night, but an update from VicRoads and Thiess says the zone will now be closed from 7.00am on Tuesday 22 July to 6.00pm on Wednesday 23 July 2014.

Footpaths will remain open during the roadworks.

Developers have advised people to pick up and drop off commuters on Queen Street instead, utilising the pedestrian footbridge on the north side of the station.

Bus service drop off and pick up will also occur on Queen Street.

The loop runs from near the Alfred Street bridge to the station building.

A large amount of construction work has been underway on the road as part of the Warragul Station Precinct Project.

THE PICK up and drop off loop at Warragul Station will be closed for much of Thursday and Friday while the road is resurfaced.

VicRoads and construction company Thiess have advised people to pick up and drop off commuters on Queen Street instead, utilising the pedestrian footbridge on the north side of the station.

Bus service drop off and pick up will also occur on Queen Street.

The closure will occur between 7am Thursday and 6pm Friday.

    I hope the footpath in that loop is still usable – there are some people (mainly elderly and those in wheelchairs) who can’t go across the footbridge with steps. Have they thought of that? It could be quite distressing for some if there’s no disability access for 2 days!
