The new numbers, if approved, will cover one of the main priorities for Walhalla set out in the Towns and Rural Communities Plan 2014/15.
A Baw Baw spokesperson said in a media release the numbering was required to help emergency services, utilities, services and visitors find people and places.
Maps of the proposed numbering will be available for viewing at the Walhalla Post Office, the council’s Facebook page and the council’s customer service centre at Civic Place, Warragul, until Friday 27 February.
Letters will be sent to affected property owners.

It’s a bit sad that “street numbers” is classed as a “main priority” by the Baw Baw Shire for Walhalla. There’s not a great deal of depth in the thinking. What about working with the local tourism association to actually develop more tourism and tourism infrastructure…that doesn’t rate a mention. Ho hum…no one should have any high expectations with Baw Baw Shire…mediocrity rules.
